Microsoft's Windows 11 solution for unsupported CPUs

This is an interesting turn of the story about Windows 11.

People are shocked by Windows 11 and its support (or lack of support) for popular processors.

For example, the first generation of AMD RYZEN processors were not officially supported. They were released not too long ago, in early 2017.

Therefore, when upgrading from Windows 10 to Windows 11, Microsoft does not support PCs equipped with these processors at all.

However, Microsoft confirmed yesterday that enthusiasts and businesses can bypass this restriction by using ISO to perform a clean Windows 11 installation.

The company did not make it clear at the time that although this workaround will allow you to install Windows 11, you will not be able to access Windows Update.

Microsoft said in a statement to The Verge that these technically "unsupported" systems will not be able to access Windows Update and may be prohibited from downloading security and driver updates.

For a company that used to be proud of maintaining the "health of the ecosystem" of Windows 10, this is a bad security move.

Therefore, in essence, through this move, Microsoft said, “We will allow you to use unsupported CPUs, but due to the lack of critical operating systems and security updates that you need to protect online, this will make you regret this decision. "
